He graduated from Tokyo University (1916).
Career
Became an official of the Agriculture and Commerce Ministry. Was appointed assistant professor at his alma mater (1921) and professor (1925). Obtained his doctorate for his thesis titled "The Consumers Cooperative Movement." Was purged after the war's end but was depurged (1951).
