Yosuke Sato was born in 1890 in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan.
Went to Europe and America to study science of mining (1932).
After returning home served successively as professor of Meiji Semmon Gakko (Meiji Engineering College), dean of Mine Science and Mining departments of the same college and lecturer and then professor (from 1947) and chief professor of Mine Engineering Department of Engineering Faculty of Tohoku University (since 1948). Awarded Konju Hosho (Blue Ribbon Medal) (1944).
Was holding additional posts of director of Sato-Seikatsukan (Sato Hall of Science of Living), chief director of Sato Scholarship Foundation and Sato Seikatsu Gakuin (Sato Institute of Science of Living).
