In 2004 Dr. Yoyo finished his Bachelor of Arts Program on Arabic language and literature. In four years he finished his Master degree on Middle Eastern Studies at Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. During his Master program, he got an opportunity to spent a semester to joint a non-degree program at Ismailia University in Egypt from 2007-2008.
Yoyo finished his Doctoral program on the same subject in 2014 at Gadjah Mada University. Yoyo also got a Scholarship from the Indonesian government to have a sit-in program at King's College in London in 2011 under the supervision of Dr. Carool Kersten.
Dr. Yoyo is a lecturer on the Middle East and Islamic Studies at Ahmad Dahlan University in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
Dr. Yoyo published academic works on Arabic and Arab culture, though. One of his published work is "Pemikiran Arab: Dinamika Intelektual, Ideology, dan Gerakan" published in Bahasa Indonesia. Besides, he also has published articles on various topics such as on Arabic and its social context, Arab thought, and Islamic studies.
