Takechi Yuki was born in Ehime Prefecture in 1894.
Graduated from Meiji University.
He entered his family business of sake brewing. Soon got interested in politics and was elected to the Ehime Prefectural Assembly.
Then coming under the influence of Nobusuke Kishi joined the Minseito Party and since 1928 has been elected to the Diet six times. He was parliamentary vice-minister of Communications and Home Affairs.
During World War II was expelled from the party for his association with the Yokusankai organization. Is shrewd and a veteran in political negotiations, having handled more than 30 such top-level conferences since the formation of the Diet. He was Minister of Communications in the first Hatoyama Cabinet (1954).
Stood for re-election to the Diet but was unsuccessful (1955). Was a director of Ajiro Tochi (Real Estate) Company and adviser of Ehime prefectural government.
