Education
In 1970, Yuliya Georgievna moved with her parents to Chisinau where she graduated from the Faculty of Philology of State Pedagogical Institute named after I. Creanga (now Ion Creangă Pedagogical State University) in 1980.
Career
Yuliya Georgievna worked at Zheleznodorozhnik Moldavii newspaper from 1981 to1982 and Youth of Moldova newspaper from 1983 to 1991. In the 1990s, she was a freelance journalist. From 2003 to 2004, she was the editor-in-chief of Yevreyskoye mestechko. She worked the editor of the policies department, deputy editor-in-chief at Nezavisimaya Moldova newspaper from 2004.
Yuliya Georgievna wrote prose together with A. Yunko. Among their books, there are "A Shot in the Theater" (published in Moscow in 1997), "The Adventurer and Lover of Sydney Reilly" (published in Moscow in 1998). Semyonova’s book "The House Where Hearts Evolve: Story of Unique Experiment" was published in Chisinau in 2009. Yuliya Georgievna wrote the script for feature film "Snake Spring" that was shot at A. Gorky Studio in 1997 together with the director N. Lebedev. She is the author of scripts for humorous TV programs in Chisinau such as musical "In Our Kasrilovka" (based on the works of Sholom-Aleichem and was set on stage at Chisinau Studio Theater "Pe strada Trandafirilor"). She maintains close relations with his hometown.
