Yuma Kojima studied at the Kyoto University, which he graduated from in 1912. In 1925 he went to study in France, where he studied the philosophy of China, in 1931 he received the title of Doctor of Literature.
After graduating from Kyoto University made a detailed study for Chinese philosophy and was eventually appointed professor at his alma mater (1931) and was placed on the emeritus list (1941). His study has contributed much toward the culture of Japan. From 1939 Yuma Kojima was a Director of the Institute of Humanities at Kyoto University.
