Kao, Yung-Hsi was born on August 20, 1963 in Tou-Nan, Taiwan. Son of Hsin-Kuei Kao and Tsai Chen.

Research in Heme oxygenase-1 attenuates interleukin-1-belta-induced nitric acid synthase gene expression in muscle cells. Research in Insulin and somatostatin-14 regulate lamprey glucose levels.

    Research in Changes in lipolysis and lipogenesis in selected tissues of the landlocked lamprey during metamorphosis. Research in Study of the relationship between thyroid hormones and lipid metabolism during KClO4-induced metamorphosis of landlocked lamprey. Research in Green tea catechins reduce resistin gene expression in fat cells.

    Research in Green tea catechins inhibit mitogenesis of preadipocytes. Research in Green tea catechins induce the apoptosis of preadipocytes. Research in IGF-I downregulates resistin gene expression and protein secretion in adipocytes.
