Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems summa cum laude, Excelsior College, Albany, New York, 2002. Master of Science in Computer Science, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, 2003. Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering, Moscow State University Environmental Engineering, 2004.
Doctor of Science in Physics and Mathematics, Karpov Institute of Physical Chemistry, Moscow, Russia, 2007.
He is best known for his work in chemical engineering (theory of filtration processes, mathematical modeling of chemical reactors). Polyakov wrote his first scientific paper when he was a freshman student at the Moscow State University of Environmental Engineering. In April 1998, he moved to the United States.
In 2006, Polyakov started scientific cooperation with Serge Timashev in the analysis of stochastic time series (Flicker-Noise Spectroscopy).
In 2004, he defended his Doctor of Philosophy dissertation in Chemical Engineering at the Moscow State University of Environmental Engineering. In 2007, he defended the Doctor of Science dissertation in Physics and Mathematics at the Karpov Institute of Physical Chemistry, Moscow, Russia.
Member of American Institute of Chemical Engineers, North American Membrane Society, American Filtration Society.
