Yury Malofeyev was born on November 26, 1943.
In 1967 Yury Malofeyev graduated from Voronezh State University, Faculty of Philology.
Malofeyev worked as an organizer of amateur art activities (1967-1971), academic registrar, supervisor and head of the Methodics Department for Cultural and Educational work at the Voronezh Department of Culture (1971-1976), instructor of the Regional Trade Union Council (1976-1983), director of the Trade Union Cultural Center and of the Inter-Union Amateur Art Center (1983-1991). Since 1991 he is the head of the Central District Department of Culture in Voronezh.
Malofeyev is an author of the cycle of TV shows (Voronezh State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company): "Voronezh patrons" (1999), "Russian holidays and ceremonies" (2001), "Anthology of Russian poetry" (2001-2006). Also, he initiated many cultural and educational events, he is a screenwriter of 9 musical films (Voronezh State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company), filmed in the 1990s, such as "Seagull", "For you", "She, music and word", "Soul confession" and others.
In 2004, Yury Malofeyev was granted the title of Honored Cultural Worker of the Russian Federation. His feature stories, short stories, and essays under the title "Russian poets. Alive poetry word" was released in 5 parts on CDs in 2005.
Malofeyev is married to Olga Anatolyevna Makeyeva.
