Together with other businessmen of Osaka Zen-emon XII Konoike founded Nippon Life Insurance Co. and became its first president (1889). Followed up by founding Konoike Bank (later Sanwa Bank) (1919). He founded Konoike Trust Co. by buying out Settsu Trust Co. (1926). Formed Konoike Co. to deal in trusts and securities (1921).
Connections
Succeeded his father to become the 12th head of the Konoike family (1884). His father was an important man who rendered distinguished services during the Meiji Restoration. His wife was the eldest daughter of Takayasu Mitsui.
