Engineer-economist whose chief work is his Traité. Whilst having some affinity to the physiocratic philosophy, this work rejected the doctrine that the soil alone produces a ‘produit Netto’. His book is remarkable for its mathematical treatment of production, capital, money and the theory of exchange.
The latter is sufficiently similar to that of Walras to suggest that Walras was influenced by Isnard.
