In 1894 he graduated from the Medical Department, Tokyo University. He studied anatomy and anthropology in Germany for six years.
He was professor at the Third Higher School in Kyoto and Kyoto University and dean of its Medical Department. He was a recipient of an Imperial prize of AAIU and honorary member of the academies of Russia, Poland, Argentine, etc. Adachi was also director of the Osaka Medical College.
Died in 1945 at the age of 80.
He was a member of the Alumni Association of the Imperial University.
