Began revol work in Libava. Took part in 1905-1907 Revol. Arrested; after release, emigrated to England, then lived in Belgium, maintaining links with Latin Section, Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party.
May 1917 returned to Russia and sent on Party work to Riga. 1918-1924 commands and political work in Red Army. 1924-1930 worked for Soviet trade missions in Sweden and Norway.
1930-1937 exec work for Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics People's Commissariat of Foreign Trade, then engineering at plants in Moscow. From 1948 retired.
