Application engineer (hvac) Jaleel Brothers Ltd., Karachi, Pakistan, 1962—1964. Lecturer Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh, 1964—1965. Development engineer, acting chief engineer Titas Gas Transmission & Distribution Company Ltd, Bangladesh, 1968—1973.

Lecturer Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore, 1973—1981. Senior lecturer, associate professor Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, 1981—2000. Associate professor Universiti Sains Malaysia, Nibong Tebal, Malaysia, since 2001.
