Prakash Chandra Mishra, Indian mechanical engineer, researcher. Achievements include research in analysis of elliptic bore journal bearing. Fellow, Engineering and Physical Science Research Council , United Kingdom, since 2005.

Background

Mishra, Prakash Chandra was born on June 14, 1973 in Ganjam, Orissa, India. Son of Govinda Chandra and Labanya Mishra; 1 child Ipsita.

Prakash completed his schooling from Janata High School of Beguniapada in Ganjam district in 1988 with 53rd position in State. He moved to BJB College Bhubaneswar for his higher secondary education in Science during 1988-1990. After spending couple of years in Industry and Academics, Prakash moved to IIT Delhi for his MTech in Industrial Tribology and Maintenance Engineering, where he did his final project on Elliptic Bore Journal Bearing modeling. Later in 2005, Prakash was awarded with an EPSRC, UK research studentship with full tuition fees and maintenance to carry out PhD in Engine Tribology and Dynamics at Wolfson School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Loughborough University, UK. Since November-2010, he is working as Associate Professor (I), in School of Mechanical Engineering, KIIT University. Prior to moving to KIIT, Prakash did a year’s postdoctoral research work in Loughborough University in a UK National Level Project entitled “ENCYCLOPAEDIC” after receiving his PhD in December 2008. Prakash is an Academic Researcher in Tribology and Dynamics since last seven years.
