Gennady Pavlovich graduated from high school in Rudna in 1955 with a silver medal and entered the car building faculty of the Bryansk Transport Engineering Institute. At the end of the university in 1960, a young mechanical engineer was assigned to the Bryansk Plant of Road Machines, where he for the first time faced with a missile theme: the plant manufactured equipment, including orders of the State Special Construction Department of the Ministry of Construction and Road.
His first significant success was the participation in the creation of the first Soviet diesel train by instructions of the Ministry of Railways. Then Gennady Pavlovich for the first time found himself in the leading role - he was instructed to lead the working team for testing the bodywork.
In 1963,Gennady Pavlovich was recruited into the already known GSKB. And then, in 1964, he took up the post of senior engineer of the department engaged in the creation of silo launchers.
In 1965, Gennady Pavlovich was appointed as the deputy head of the department - headed by one of its sectors, engaged in equipment for the Navy. In 1979 he headed the design department. In 1984, at the Military Space Academy named after A.F. Mozhaisky he successfully defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences.
Gennady Pavlovich Biryukov, General Director - General Designer of KBTM, entered the office in December 25, 1991. In the period from 1997 to 2000 under the leadership of Gennady Pavlovich completed the design work. KBTM under the leadership of Gennady Pavlovich has completed the design and pre-production development of the universal technical and launch complexes for the preparation and launch a family of carrier rockets of light, average and heavy class "Angara" with payload from 2 ton to 28 tons. The implementation of this project allowed Russia to significantly expand the possibilities of independent access to space from its territory.
Since 1973, Gennady Pavlovich is engaged in scientific and pedagogical activity in the specialty "Missile and technical complexes of missiles and spacecraft". He heads the branch of the specialized department of Moscow State Automobile and Road Institute at Construction Department of Transport Engineering, and also manages the department "Start-up complexes" in MATI-RGTU. Gennady Pavlovich prepared 3 doctors of technical science and 6 candidates of technical sciences.
Gennady Pavlovich is a member of the Presidium of the NTS Rosaviakosmos, chairman of the NTS KBTM, a member of the specialized councils for defending dissertations at the MATI-RSTU, Moscow State Automobile and Road Institute and Construction Department of General Mechanical Engineering.
