Graduated from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (Moscow Film School).
One of the best Lithuanian cameramen turned director. First tried his hand as a cameraman in 1959. Shot one episode from the important film Living Heroes.
Other films as a cameraman: Strangers (1962), The Chronicle of One Day (1963). As a directorcameraman: Nights Without Lodging (1967), Find Me (1968), When I Was Young (1969). Works at the Lithuanian Film Studio in Vilnius.
