(This book combines horror and a history of blues culture,...)
This book combines horror and a history of blues culture, including in its cast of characters such notable blues figures as Robert Johnson, Leadbelly, Sonny Boy Williamson, and Ma Rainey. When Robert Johnson sings "Judgment Day," demons are called up to the streets of New Orleans in this tale of Santeria (an African-inspired religion) voodoo. The song was not intended to be sung until the Rapture at the end of the world, but when Johnson sings it on his deathbed, he opens the "Eye of the World" and threatens the earth with damnation.

(There's a story that goes 'round about strange events out...)
There's a story that goes 'round about strange events outside Roswell, New Mexico, and how they led to a hangar in Ohio and the three dead aliens that lie stored inside it. Most everyone has heard the tale at one time or another. And because it goes 'round the way it does — metamorphosing ever so slightly with every retelling — some people say the tale is nothing but a scrap of modern folklore; a legend alive in every bar and coffee house across the land. Pandora knows better. Pandora knows all about the strange events outside Roswell — and she knows even more about the stranger ones that followed. She knows that there weren't three dead aliens in the wreckage of the doomed ship. Not three, but four. Three dead adults and a single living, breathing infant. That infant was Pandora. Years now the government has raised her in captivity, unknowable and secret inside a classified Air Force Facility in Ohio. This morning Pandora escaped in the dark dark hours before dawn. And through the miracle of modern satellite television, all the world has seen her. And the government wants her back.

(Joey Robins is nine years old and his dad Sam is transfer...)
Joey Robins is nine years old and his dad Sam is transferred from Virginia to California. The family has to move cross-country, and Joey won't let the movers take his toy bear. He has to ride in the car with Joey, his dad, and mom Belinda. Joey is probably too old to love a Teddy Bear, but he does. Bear is his best friend and when you meet his parents, you'll see why. Joey loved the bear so hard and long and pure, so deeply and so truly and so powerfully, that Bear began to grow a heart. Nobody ever would have known about Bear at all, in fact, if Joey hadn’t lost him at the motel not far from the haunted shopping mall on Christmas Eve... And so begins a great quest, as Bear tries to find Christmas and Joey. A timeless classic for all seasons.

(There are sins that whisper melodies of madness through t...)
There are sins that whisper melodies of madness through the blood; sins that sing to us down and across the generations — no matter what the distance, we know them when we see them, and perhaps they know us, too. Keziah Mason was born a world away in time. She died horribly an age ago - or more. Now, there are whispers on the streets that she's returned. Returned as an old woman, ragged and unclean as any vagabond wandering the streets of Arkham. The sort of woman you or I might take to be an ordinary madwoman - until we draw close, and see her eyes. Eyes the color of dark light; eyes that glitter hatefully; eyes that watch everyone and everything around her with predatory yearning. Yearning - for a child. There are no words to tell a child all the horrors that abound in Arkham and the world. Not even malformed and orphaned Jason Laidlaw, the boy who is her misbegotten son. A boy as innocent as you or I - a boy who knows the evil in our bones. A child doomed by generations made of evil, and damned by birthright in a city haunted as its name. ARKHAM - welcome to the city of fear.
