Fenn was living in Spain and freelancing for Time, Inc., magazines. Fenn has freelanced his photographs to numerous outlets, such as Look, Time, Newsweek, Collier’s, Saturday Evening Post, etc., since 1962. From 1962 to 1972 he was also a contract photographer for Time, Inc., and worked for Life magazine from 1941 to 1962, first as a contract photographer (1941-46), then as a staff photographer.
A photojournalist, Fenn has covered all types of news events, political conventions, politicians, diplomats, presidents, foreign rulers and the United Nations.
Fenn is a member of the Overseas Press Club and was a member of the New York Newspaper Guild (1946-62).
