Aleksandr Opekushin, USSR Sculptor, academician.


Opekushin, Aleksandr was born in 1840.


Pupil of the academician D. Iensen. Studied at the Petersburg Academy of Arts.


In 1862, awarded the Academy’s silver medal. In 1870, received the title of Class Artist. In 1872, academician.

Exhibitions: the Academy of Arts, 1862, 1869, 1870, 1884. All-Russian Exhibition, Moscow, 1882. Took part in the competition for the Aleksandr Pushkin memorial project, 1875.
