1878 graduate Medical Surgical Academy.
1878 assigned to military unit serving in Bulgaria. 1880-1886 intern, Penza Province Hospital. Then worked at Laboratory of General and Experimental Pathology, Military Medical Academy.
From 1889 associate professor, from 1890 dissector, Chair of General Pathology, Military Medical Academy. From 1891 professor, Chair of General Pathology, Tomsk University. From 1895 professor, Chair of General Pathology, Khar’kov University.
In Khar’kov soon also headed Chair of General Pathology at Women's Medical Institute and at Veterinary Institute. From 1912 Honorary professor From 1920 professor, Chair of Pathophysiology, Crimean University.
Also dean of its Medical Faculty. 1922 returned to Chair of Pathophysiology, Khar’kov University. In his latter years directed Chair of Experimental Pathology, Ukraine Main Board for Sciences, Museum and Artistic Research Establishments.
Also head, Biological Department, All-Ukraine Roentgenological Institute. Head, Department of Pathology, Ukraine Institute of Sciences and Practical Veterinary Studies. Specialized in metabolism and endocrinology.
Did research on: metabolism in the case of fever. Effects of pregnancy on metabolism. Function of sexual organs in relation to nutrition.
Effects of postnatal period and nursing on bodily functions. Also studied internal secretion, effects of x-rays on metabolism, tumors’ metabolic effects and links between tumors and disturbances of the endocrine glands.
Religion is always aggressive against any new scientific ideas.
Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
