Career
Since 1911 he worked in Russian cinema. He shot about 30 story films. He screened a number of works of Russian and Jewish literature. He was a member of the leadership of the Union of Cinematographers (Moscow, 1918). In 1921 he put in Austria a historical painting "Zhan Toro". Since 1923, the correspondent of the magazine "Sovetsky Ekran" in England, since 1924 in the United States, from where he did not return to the USSR. He taught at the University of California.
