He graduated from the natural department of the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of Kharkov University.
He worked as a teacher in the gymnasium of Rivne. From the 1880s he was engaged in teaching activities in the city of Voronezh. He was an inspector from 1883. Alexander Fedorovich was the director of the Belgorod Teacher's Institute beginning from 1902. He is the author repeatedly republished (including in the city of Voronezh) popularly written books on gardening, horticulture, arable farming, school textbooks on arithmetic and various textbooks.
