In 1950 he graduated from the History Department of the Borisoglebsk Pedagogical Institute, in 1958 he ended the History Department of the Tambov State Pedagogical Institute.
In 1946-1980 Alexander worked as a teacher of history at school №11 in Borisoglebsk.
He worked on the topic "А.М. Gorky and Borisoglebsk". Also Alexander wrote memoirs about his classmate G.A. Pechkovsky, who was the Hero of the Soviet Union (they are kept in the Borisoglebsk Historical and Art Museum).
He is the author of the methodical manual "Themes of academic studies on the history of the native land" (1985, together with U.A. Apalkov), articles "A.M. Gorky and Borisoglebsk" in the book "Small cities of Russia. Education. Culture" (Borisoglebsk, 2000), and also of many local history publications in the newspaper "Borisoglebsk Journal".
