Alexander Nikolaevich studied at the district school and after he finished it in 1878 he received his further education at Non-Classical Secondary School in Vyatka. In 1882 he was excluded.
In 1890s Alexander Nikolaevich worked as a surveyor in Vyatka province. In 1901 he moved to Slobodskoy where he worked as an insurance agent. In 1907 Alexander Nikolaevich came back to Vyatka and surved as a regular contributing editor for the local newspaper. Most of his life he worked as an insurance agent but continued to write his articles and stories. In 1927 Alexander Nikolaevich retired.
