Alexander Sergeevich studied at Physics and Mathematics Faculty of Voronezh State University (1922-1925). Graduated from Mathematics and Mechanics department of Physics and Mathematics Faculty of the Leningrad State University (now Saint Petersburg State University) (1928), the Leningrad Institute of Technology (now Saint Petersburg State Institute of Technology) (1931). In 1928-1931, the designer of aircraft factory in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg).
Since 1931 the designer of the Voronezh Aircraft Factory. At the same time he was a lecturer of the department of aeromechanics of Voronezh State University in 1933-1936. Since 1936, deputy director of Voronezh aviation technical school.
Alexander Sergeevich developed about 30 testing and experimental aircrafts, including light-passenger aircraft SAM-5bis ,which was set several world records for height and range of flights. One of the first who created a triangular delta wing design.
In 1941-1945 the design engineer, the director of the defense plant in the city of Yalutorovsk of the Tyumen region. Design engineer, deputy director of aircraft factory in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) in 1945-1948. Since 1948, Senior Lecturer at the Leningrad Air Force Engineering Academy. Head of the Research Laboratory on perspective development of military equipment in Leningrad since 1954.
