Nikolay Mikhailovich graduated from the Construction Faculty of the Moscow Institute of Civil Engineering (now Moscow State University of Civil Engineering) (1946).
Since 1950 was a senior lecturer, associate professor, head of the department of steel and wooden structures. Since 1961 was a professor, head of the department of metal structures of the Voronezh Civil Engineering Institute (now Voronezh State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering). Under Kirsanov’s leadership, original industrial and civil structures with hanging coatings were designed and implemented in Voronezh and the Voronezh Region.
Research Interests: building constructions.
Author of over 80 works, including books: "Hanging and cable-stayed structures" (Moscow, 1982); "Hanging structures" (Moscow, 1985); "Hanging systems of increased rigidity" (Moscow, 1973).
