Since 1981 she worked as an associate counsel at the Mexican American Legal Defense, and Educational Fund in Washington, United States. She worked there for two years. In 1983 Antonia became an employment program director at the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund in Washington, United States. she held this position until 1984. Since 1985 she worked as a President and general counsel at the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund in Los Angeles, California, United States. Also, she was admitted to the Bar in California, United States in 1974 and District of Columbia, United States in 1979.
