News illustrator and cartoonist successively for Evening Mail, Daily News, Tribune, Inter-Ocean Chicago, 1884-1894, for Denver Times, 1895. Company-editor The Masses, 1911-1919. Washington correspondent for Metropolitan Magazine, 1912-1917.

Editor public Good Morning, New York City, 1919-1921.

Contributor illustrations and cartoons to Life, Puck, Judge, Saturday Evening Post, Colliers, The Nation. Active in campaigns for woman suffrage, labor organization, racial equality, and abolition of child labor.

Candidate of Socialist Party in New York for State Assembly, 1913, State Senate, 1918.
