Studied at a public school in Battersea.
Career
Appointed on staff of Accountant’s section of Southwark and Vauxhall Water Company, 1878. Accountant to the Company, 1895. In connection with the transfer of the Metropolitan Water Companies to the Metropolitan Water Board the Directors entrusted him with the preparation of the Company’s claim, and he was the sole financial witness called by the Company in support of its case before the Court of Arbitration.
After the transfer was appointed Deputy Comptroller to the Board, 1904. Member of the Institute of Municipal Treasurers and Accountants; Accountant and Registrar of Metropolitan Water “ A ” and Debenture Stocks to the Metropolitan Water Board since 190S.
