Taught district school 2 years, became book salesman at 19 and paid way through college. Entered employ of Werner Company, publications, 1893. President and general manager Sheldon Public Company, Chicago, 1899-1902.

Founded, 1902, and was president, becoming president emeritus, the Sheldon School (business science).

Formulator of “Science of Salesmanship.”.
