Freedman, Barbara Louise was born on November 19, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan, United States. Daughter of Louis and Frances (Wilder) Krakow.


Bachelor of Science in Art Education, Wayne State University, Detroit, 1961. Master of Arts in Painting, Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, 1981.


Art consultant, Grand Rapids (Michigan) Public Schools, 1962; substitute teacher, Detroit Public Schools, 1963-1965; art instructor, Birmingham (Michigan) Public Schools, 1968-1981; head fine arts department, Birmingham (Michigan) Public Schools, 1981-1991; lecturer in art, Sun Cities Museum, Sun City West, Arizona, 1991-1992; instructor painting, Kuentz Art Center, Sun City West, 1991-1993; instructor painting and computer graphics, Glendale Community College, since 1993.
