She graduated from the Borisoglebsk Voronezh Regional High School (1956) and the State Pedagogical Institute (1961).
Berta Sergeevna Dykhanova worked as a senior bibliographer and the Head of the patent sector of the Scientific Library of the Voronezh Central Bureau of Technical Information (1965-1970). Since 1970 she had been working at the Russian Language and Literature Department of the Voronezh State Pedagogical University. Later in 1988 she became the Head of the Department of the History of Russian Literature, Theory and Methods of Teaching Literature.
Berta Sergeevna is the author of about 100 scientific publications, including monographs: "The Impressed Angel" and "The Enchanted Wanderer" by N.S. Leskov (Moscow, 1982),"In the mirrors of the oral word" (Voronezh, 1995), as well as forewords to published in Moscow collections of selected works of N.S. Leskov (1981, 1986, 1988), G.I. Uspensky (1988). She was published in the journal "Questions of Literature", "Russian Literature", "Rise" and others.
