Bjorn Ochsner studied philosophy at the University of Berlin in 1931-1933 and earned a Master of Arts in 1939 from the University of Copenhagen.
Bjorn Ochsner headed the Department of Maps, Prints, and Photographs at the Royal Library in Copenhagen since 1944, and previously worked for the State Museum of Fine Arts in Copenhagen (1941-1944). The historian has registered nearly all photographers at work in Denmark up to 1914 and has built up the photo collection of the Royal Library to over a million prints and as many negatives.
