Roach received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Vassar College in 1979. A year later she earned her Master of Labor Relations and Human Resources degree in human resource management from the Ohio State University. In 1984, Bonnie was given a Ph.D. from the same university.
Roach began her career as an assistant professor of management at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1985. Three years later she was appointed an associate professor of management at the Ohio University. Nowadays Bonnie is a professor at that university.
Roach is a member of the Academy of Management and Industrial Relations Research Association.
