Specialized in surgery under A. A. Troyanov. Specialized in urology under Kasper. 1901-1910 head Surgical Department, from 1910 head, Urological Department, Obukhov Hospital, where he established the first urological in-patient ward in Saint St. Petersburg.
1915 chief surgeon of a large military hospital. From 1916 professor Chair of Urology, Psychoneurological Institute (now 2nd Leningrad Medical Institute). From 1926 professor of urology, Leningrad State Institute of Postgraduate Medical Training.
Head, Urological Department, "Victims of the Revolution” Memorial Hospital, Leningrad. Devised twoand three-phase methods of removing enlarged prostates. Also devised operative techniques for the treatment of fistulas and stricture of the urethra, constriction of the cervix vesicae and tumors of the urinary bladder.
Trained numerous specialists, many of whom now head chairs of urology. Honorary member and chairman, Leningrad Urologists’ Social. Member, Leningrad City Soviet.
