Brian Morton was born on August 10, 1942 in the United Kingdom.

Education

Brian Morton studied at the University of London, where he earned a Bachelor of Science and a Ph.D.

Career

Brian Morton started his career as a lecturer at Zoology Department of Hong Kong University in 1970 and took that position until 1975. Later he was promoted to the reader in marine biology and then professor of zoology, the prestigious position he has been holding since 1982. In 1981 Brian was named a chair of Texas Christian University.

Since 1990 Morton has been a director of Swire Marine Laboratory. Moreover, he works as a chair of Marine Parks Reserves Committee of the country Marine Parks Board and a member of executive council and chair of education committee of World Wildlife Federation in Hong Kong.

Achievements

• Brian Morton is highly famous as the author and editor of books The Future of the Hong Kong Seashore, The Malacofauna of Hong Kong and Southern China, The Marine Flora and Fauna of Hong Kong and Southern China, and The Sea Shore Ecology of Hong Kong.
