Graduated from the Petersburg Ballet School, 1908, and was accepted into the Mariinskii Theatre.
Sister of Vaclav Nijinsky. Left in 1911 in protest at her brother’s dismissal. Appeared abroad in the Ballets Russes, 1910-1913.
Created various parts in M. Fokin’s ballets. Danced in London with her brother’s company, 1914. Appeared and taught in Kiev, 1915-1921.
Emigrated. Ballerina, choreographer and producer with Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes, 1922-1924. Choreographer with the Paris Opera, the Colon Theatre in Buenos Aires, Ida Rubinstein’s company and many other theatres all over the world. Also had her own company, 1932-1935.
Produced mainly one-act ballets.
