Burton Altura received a Bachelor of Arts from Hofstra University, 1957; a Master of Science in New York University, 1961; a Doctor of Philosophy in New York University School of Medicine, 1964.
Burton Altura is a professor in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at Suny Downstate Medical Center in the USA. He worked as an instructor of experimental anesthesiology in New York University School of Medicine in 1964-1965, then - as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology in 1964-1966. Burton Altura worked as assistant professor physiology and anesthesiology in Albert Einstein College Medicine in 1967-1970, then - as an associate professor in 1970-1974.
Burton Altura o was an organizer workshop of the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, 1992. Honorary President of International Symposium on Interactions of Magnesium and Potassium on Cardiac and Vascular Muscle, Montbazon, France, 1984.
