Chen C. C. received his education at the English Methodist College, 1905-1908, later at Shanghai College, Shanghai, 1909-1913, and then at Brown University, U.S.A., 1913-1916. From 1916 to 1919 he studied at Yale University. Chen C. C. was a holder of the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Philosophy, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy (Yale).
Mr. Chen served as professor and head of department of biology, Shanghai College in 1919. In 1921-1927 he was a vice-president of Shanghai College, chairman of the school of natural sciences at the same College since 1929. He was a holder of Currier Fellowship at Yale. Mr. Chen was known as a fellow of Peiping Society of Natural History text book on biology and contributor of articles to Journal of Bacteriology and The Science, two American publications.
