Background

Carl-Ludwig Christineck was born about 1732 in Saint-Petersburg, Russian Federation. He was born to German parents, but lived his whole life in Russia.

Education

Christineck was initially taught in German.

Career

As a painter, Christineck painted primarily portraits of Russian aristocracy. In 1785, he did a portrait of the architect Yury Felten.

Among some of his other works was a mosaic of the Battle of Poltava, produced at the Imperial Porcelain Factory.

Christineck died circa 1792 in St. Petersburg.
