Carol Doumani graduated from the University of Southern California, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1971.

Career

Carol Doumani is a writer. To date, her work includes seven writings. Her books, Chinese Checkers and Taking Heart, were both adopted as audiobooks by Books on Tape. Additionally, Doumani founded Wave Publishing in Venice, California, in 1994. Moreover, she involves in photography.

Carol Doumani also is a philanthropist and patron of the arts. She, together with her late husband, Roy Doumani, engaged in charity. In 2019, shortly before Roy Doumani passed away, they contributed $5.25 million to advance research in cancer and stem cell biology at the Eli and Edythe Broad Center of Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research at the University of California, Los Angeles. Their gift established the Doumani Research Innovation Fund, which supported the work of faculty affiliated with the Broad Stem Cell Research Center and the University of California, Los Angeles Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center who conducts multidisciplinary research aimed at translating scientific discoveries into new treatments for people with cancer. The couple sacrificed more than $10 million to the University of California, Los Angeles overall. Their latest gift was part of the Centennial Campaign for the University.

• Carol Doumani is widely known as a writer and philanthropist. Currently, she is the author of seven books. For her work, Untitled, Nude, Doumani received a Brandeis University Distinguished Author Award. She is also a founder of Wave Publishing since 1994. Besides, as a philanthropist, Carol Doumani pays particular attention to charity. So, for example, Carol, with her late husband, Roy Doumani, donated, in general, more than $10 million to the University of California, Los Angeles.
