Mr. Li was graduated from the Government Law School in Yunnan and the Union Lutheran Theological Seminary in Hupeh.
Chao-min Li served as a judge in the High Court of Yunnan in 1910, chief-of-staff and commissary to the Revolutionary Army in Yunnan in 1912, principal of Taohwalun Middle School, Yiyang, Hunan.
Mr. Li taught at the Lutheran Theological Seminary, Hopeh and the Nanking Theological Seminary, Nanking and the Customs College, Shanghai. He was professor of philosophy, religion, law, and Chinese Literature at Soochow University in 1931-1933 and acting head and professor of the Chinese Department at Fukien Christian University, Foochow, Fukien.
