Charles DUNOYER, French economist. Member, French Institute, Institution, 1832; President, Society d’Economics Political, 1845.
DUNOYER, Charles was born in 1786 in Carennac, France.
Considered during the nineteenth century as a great economist, his ideas are contained in one evolving work which began as a course of lectures at the Paris Athenaeum and appeared successively, though with considerable additions, as L’Industrie.., Nouveau traité.. and De la liberté. His theory of ‘immaterial wealth’ is perhaps the chief individual element in his ideas. Prefect, Allier, 1830-1832, Somme, 1832-1838.
