Commissioned Second lieutenant, Infantry, June 15, 1904. Advanced through grades to major general, October 1, 1940, retired November 30, 1945. Inclusive of 10 years overseas, service comprises 18 years with troops, 14 years on high staffs, 2 years as student and 7 years on faculties.
