Chi-sun Wu was a private secretary to the Viceroy of Manchuria in 1907-1909. In 1914 he became a chief of the administrative department in Hsu Shihchang's cabinet under Yuan Shih-kai. Then he was appointed a director of the Government bureau of printing and engraving in the same cabinet. After that Mr. Wu worked as a chief secretary to ex-President Hsu Shih-chang in 1918-1922. He was also a well-known Chinese scholar in Honan.
