Wu Ching-Lien graduated from the Peking Government University in 1907.
Mr. Wu represented Fengtien at the National Provisional Council in Nanking and later president of the Council in Peking in 1912, was a member of Parliament in 1913-1915, served as a speaker of the Lower House in 1917, was a president of the Extraordinary Parliament at Canton in 1917.
Wu Ching-Lien was a re-elected speaker of the Lower House in 1922-1923 and was instrumental in the election of Tsao Kun to presidency in 1922. He retired from public service in 1923.
