Daisuke Takei was born in 1887 in Ibaraki, Japan.
He graduated from Tokyo Higher Commercial School in 1909.
He commissioned as Navy Paymaster Lieutenant and rose to rank of Paymaster Vice-Admiral in 1937. He retired from actual service in 1943. During this time, he attended Columbia University, became member of institute of Washington Conference Delegation, and served as chief of Accounting and Finance Bureau.
After retirement, he worked for Yasuda Hozensha Company as standing director, later president of Yasuda Bank (present Fuji Bank) and adviser to lino Sangyo Company. He purged by Allied Occupation directive after the war. After being depurged, became president of Showa Sangyo Company. Books: "Great Asiatic War: Before and After " and "Explanations of Poems of Fleet Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto".
