Daniil DEMUTSKIY, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Cameraman. Honorary Art Worker of Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic from 1944 and Ukraine Soviet Socialist Republic from 1954. gold medal at 1925 Paris International Exhibition of Applied Arts; prize at 6th International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary, 1951;Stalin Prize (1952).

Background

DEMUTSKIY, Daniil was born on July 16, 1893 in village Okhmatov, now Cherkassy Oblast.

Education

1917 graduate Law Faculty, Kiev University.

Career

A keen amateur photographer in his youth, he later became a professional photographer. From 1925 head, Photography Department, All-Ukraine Board of Photography and Cinematography in Kiev. 1926-1932 worked with film director Dovzhenko.

During World War 2 worked for Tashkent Film Studio. From 1947 again at Kiev Film Studio. IFor/is: helped screen films: Vasya-reformator (Vasya the Reformer) (1926).
