Deliang Wang, Chinese computer scientist, educator. Achievements include contributions to temporal sequence learning/processing, revealing learning mechanisms in anuran visual perception and oscillatory associative memory; co-discovered mechanism of selective gating and co-originated LEGION networks; applying LEGION networks to visual and auditory scene analysis.

Background

Wang, Deliang was born on January 27, 1963 in He County, China. Came to the United States, 1988. Son of Shiwu Wang and Xianzheng Song.

Career

Assistant research fellow, Institute Computing Technology Academia Sinica, Beijing, 1986-1987; research assistant, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, 1988-1990; assistant professor, Ohio State University, Columbus, 1991-1996; associate professor, Ohio State University, Columbus, since 1997. Visiting scientist Harvard University, Cambridge, 1998-1999.
